Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a Travel Respiratory Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients of all ages, including infants, children, and adults, with a variety of respiratory conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests, including spirometry and arterial blood gas analysis, to assess respiratory function and diagnose respiratory conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments, as prescribed by physicians, to manage respiratory conditions and promote patient recovery.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in respiratory status, including oxygen saturation, heart rate, and blood pressure.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, preferably in a pediatric or neonatal setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies, as needed, to provide patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a pediatric or neonatal intensive care unit (ICU).
  • Certification in neonatal or pediatric respiratory care.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
