Key Responsibilities
  • Grounds Maintenance: Supervise and coordinate the daily maintenance of the campus grounds, including lawn care, pruning, and landscaping.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of grounds maintenance staff, providing guidance and training on safety procedures and best practices.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain a variety of landscape maintenance and construction equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and other hand and power tools.
  • Project Management: Plan and execute projects related to landscape maintenance, landscape plant installations, hardscapes, and irrigation, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety rules and policies, including those related to pesticide application and handling.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to residents and management, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school, or 2-3 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a related field, with a focus on turf, plants, and flowers in the Sandhills region of North Carolina.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Pesticide Applicator License or attainment within 6 months of employment.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of turf, plants, and flowers in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, as well as experience using a variety of mowers and other hand and power tools.
