Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Membership and Visitor Services Representative within our Membership Department. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional visitor experience through efficient, friendly, and professional service. Responsibilities include processing transactions for various offerings at Denver Botanic Gardens, such as general admissions, memberships, classes, events, and tours. The representative will also manage lost and found items and oversee the checkout of wheelchairs and strollers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exemplary customer service to all staff, visitors, and patrons, utilizing various communication methods including phone, in-person, and electronic channels.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Denver Botanic Gardens' horticulture, exhibits, programs, and events to effectively represent the organization.
  • Manage daily ATM operations, including opening, closing, and reconciling shifts.
  • Facilitate bookings and process sales for admissions, classes, tours, and events.
  • Handle all aspects of membership sales, including payment processing and member data management.
  • Assist members with the redemption of complimentary tickets for events.
  • Generate daily attendance and membership reports.
  • Support members and non-members with account inquiries and management.
  • Oversee lost and found services and the checkout process for mobility aids at designated information desks.
  • Ensure information desks are stocked with brochures and promotional materials.
  • Welcome event guests and coordinate with relevant staff.
  • Maintain regular admissions hours and assist during special events, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Serve as a positive role model and collaborate with all departments to enhance visitor experiences throughout the Gardens.
  • Regular attendance at the workplace is expected, with remote work eligibility contingent on performance and management discretion.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in data entry, cash handling, and balancing cash drawers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret business publications, technical documents, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong writing skills for reports, correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Effective presentation skills for addressing groups of various stakeholders.
  • Competence in performing calculations related to discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • Problem-solving skills to navigate diverse situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to follow varied instructions in multiple formats.
  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills.
  • Capacity to remain composed under pressure and manage stressful interactions.
  • Flexibility to adapt plans as needed throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with POS systems and membership management software is preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • Commitment to representing Denver Botanic Gardens positively at all times.

Experience and Education

  • High school diploma or GED required; relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Preferred minimum of one year of experience in admissions or customer service within a museum or cultural institution.
