Key Responsibilities
  • Software Asset Management: Participate and/or lead activities supporting and improving processes for the global Software Asset Management Program.
  • Software Compliance: Responsible for software compliance activities, software lifecycle management, managing an internal customer request queue, SAM evangelism program, and individually assigned projects.
  • IT Asset Optimization: Maximize the value of IT assets by managing processes, controlling costs, and driving compliance to mitigate risk. Monitor, maintain, and enforce Software Asset Management policies and procedures.
  • Software Environment Management: Manage the software environment by interpreting software contracts, understanding the technology platform, creating license positions, and working with product owners to deploy in a compliant manner.
  • Business Needs Analysis: Discover underlying business needs to be addressed and information related to the Software Asset Management projects through interaction.
  • Inventory and Reporting: Analyze and interpret inventory and reporting tool data to build deployment and usage information for complex software configurations.
  • Software Request Queue Management: Responsible for monitoring and actioning the team's software request queue on a rotational basis.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Work with key stakeholders to gather pertinent information for software renewals and the optimization of the assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • SAM Education: Communicate SAM best practices and proper procedures to internal customers through the SAM education program.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT; at least 2 years IT Software Asset Management role required; experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: A thorough understanding of IT concepts, terminology, and practical application of current and emerging technologies. Strong technical background with a working knowledge of IT Infrastructure such as Active Directory, Windows, Linux, Citrix, DB structure, cloud applications, and security.
  • Software License Knowledge: Full understanding of software license types, metrics, and applied applications.
  • Analytical Skills: Must have the ability to analyze data from disparate systems and perform analysis at a detailed level to produce comprehensive reports.
  • Collaboration and Communication: A critical thinker with the ability to encourage others in collaborative deductive problem-solving exercises. Perform basic Project Management for Enterprise-wide Software Asset Management initiatives.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills that include excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to different audiences and levels of the organization.
  • Certification: CSAM or CITAM certification.
