Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer, your role will encompass the following:
- Conduct comprehensive Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to verify that developed software adheres to established quality standards.
- Review and analyze source code and configuration files, providing software engineering support for resolution of issues.
- Engage in coding tasks for features/functions and execute functional and performance tests.
- Collaborate with team members through peer design and code reviews.
- Perform coding and scripting tasks for software build, packaging, and deployment processes.
- Utilize broad knowledge of software engineering to prepare and analyze documentation, including planning, requirements, design, support, and testing.
- Document test scripts and execute tests, providing detailed reports on findings and software functionality.
- Deliver comprehensive test support for government programs, including the development of test plans and reports, and coordination of test events with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead the planning and execution of independent government test and evaluation for Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E), acting as the Lead DT&E Point of Contact.
- Facilitate Test Readiness Reviews and support Production Readiness Reviews.
- Serve as the Secretariat for the Integrated Testing Team (ITT) and chair Deficiency Review Boards (DRBs), summarizing findings for stakeholders.
- Develop test objectives and create detailed test cases, procedures, and scenarios, while accurately reporting test-related metrics.
- Assess operational feasibility through analysis, problem definition, requirements evaluation, and solution development.
- Enhance operational efficiency by conducting systems analysis and recommending policy and procedural changes.
- Transform high-level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks in collaboration with users and lead engineers.
Qualifications
Security Clearance Required: TS with SCI Eligibility
Applicants must meet one of the following education/experience combinations:
- Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (12+ years preferred), including at least 5 years supporting the Department of Defense (DoD).
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (15+ years preferred), including at least 5 years supporting the DoD.
- 16 years of relevant experience (20+ years preferred), including at least 8 years supporting the DoD.
Essential Skills
Applicants should possess:
- Strong knowledge and experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Extensive hands-on software design and coding experience.
- Understanding of Agile software methodologies and processes.
- DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, etc.).
