The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for TWO Term Information Technology (IT) Specialists (GS-2210-11), to perform as Host Based Security System (HBSS)/Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Systems Administrator, at the 2nd Systems Operations Squadron, on Offutt Air Force Base (AFB) in Bellevue, Nebraska.

• This is a Term position not to exceed 2-years (with possibility of transition to permanent position based on performance)

• In this position you will serve as a senior systems administrator with responsibility for planning and coordinating the installation, testing, modifying, upgrading, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.

• Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Secret” Security clearance.

• Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating ACAS and HBSS applications system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems and optimize system performance.

• Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology relating to Network Security and Vulnerability Management necessary to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system.

• Knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize ACAS and HBSS applications, monitor performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems administration functions.

• Knowledge of ACAS and HBSS applications, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; Ability to apply methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving ACAS and HBSS applications and systems to solve complex problems, provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers, and maintain liaison with industry and other activities to provide awareness of state-of-the-art technology.
