About the Role

Mativ is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety and Environmental Specialist to join our team for a summer internship. As a key member of our corporate environmental, health, and safety leadership team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and/or contribute to defined projects focused on improved safety data collection, management, communication, and usage across Mativ, from facility to enterprise-level.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies, procedures, training, and programs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Support Mativ's safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Develop working knowledge of federal and state environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Interact with site EHS leaders and corporate staff on various projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0.
  • Internship or work experience preferred.

  • A team player with exceptional organizational and technical skills.
  • Proven record of demonstrating problem-solving and decision-making, collaboration and teamwork, project management skills, and ability to balance multiple assignments at once.
