Educational Support Specialist

Position Summary:
Support the classroom educator in executing a teaching mission that honors faith, focuses on Jesus, and centers on the Gospel, helping students to love, serve, and make a positive impact in the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher(s) to coordinate instructional tasks, including but not limited to:
- Preparing educational materials for lessons, displays, and demonstrations.
- Providing tutoring and assistance to students.
- Distributing instructional and assessment materials.
- Supervising students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, dining areas, and during field trips.
- Grading and documenting homework and assessments.
- Assisting with all facets of a digital learning environment.
- Supporting the teacher in any area necessary to ensure an effective classroom.
- Fulfill additional administrative tasks as assigned by the Elementary Principal or Head of School.
- Respond to all communication requests promptly, ideally by the end of the next business day.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Participate in events as outlined in the Agreement or as requested by the Elementary Principal or Head of School.
- Understand and effectively implement all emergency protocols, including Lock Down, Fire Drill, and Earthquake procedures.
The above summary highlights the primary tasks and responsibilities. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties; therefore, the individual may perform other related tasks as necessary to support the mission of the organization.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience, and Attributes:
- High School Diploma/GED and previous experience working with children.
- Ability to engage with children and manage group behavior effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to lead and provide clear guidance to children.
- Proficient in operating basic classroom technology and office equipment.
- Familiarity with all school-related data systems.
Additional Expectations:
- Must have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
- Must agree with and adhere to the organization's Statement of Faith, Standards of Conduct, and Lifestyle Agreement.
- Must be a member in good standing with the organization or a local evangelical church that aligns with the organization's Statement of Faith.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stretch, stand, sit, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Able to see, speak, and hear regularly.
- Capable of climbing stairs and standing for extended periods.
- Supervise students both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to summon assistance during emergencies and take on responsibilities within an incident command structure.
- Must be present daily and available for occasional weekend and evening events.
Work Schedule: Part-time, Monday to Friday; on-campus as determined by the Elementary Principal.
There will be no scheduled work during designated breaks.
