Dental Assistant Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dental Assistant to join our team at the City of El Paso, TX. As a Senior Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality services.
Job Summary:The Senior Dental Assistant will assist dentists and dental hygienists with patient examinations and dental procedures, perform various clinical and clerical tasks, and maintain a clean and organized clinic area. This is an unclassified contract position, and employment is contingent upon the continuation of state/federal funding.
Responsibilities:- Assist dental professionals with patient examinations and dental procedures
- Perform various clinical and clerical tasks, including maintaining patient records and files
- Prepare dental instruments and materials for each patient
- Assist with radiographic examinations and process diagnostic digital X-rays
- Clean, sterilize, and assemble dental instruments following treatment
- Maintain dental equipment and clinic area in a neat and clean condition
- Assist with the dismissal of patients by scheduling appointments and reviewing post-op instructions
- Update dental patient records in the Dentrix database system
- Prepare receipts for services rendered, collect fees, and post daily sheets
- Complete daily oral hygiene education, hygiene packets, and front desk coverage
- Facilitate water tests per regulatory guidelines
- Serve as the Designated Radiology Security Officer (RSO)
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher and completion of an accredited dental assistant program
- Six (6) years of experience in a dental office, clinic, or clinical dental chairside dental treatment, including two (2) years of experience in a pediatric or public health dental setting
- Certification as a Dental Assistant through completion of a dental assistant course from an accredited college or technical school
- Certified in Dental X-ray proficiency as prescribed by the Texas Department of Health
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent from another state
