Maintenance Clerk Job Description

Country Pure Foods seeks a skilled Maintenance Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing and storing spare parts for equipment and facility maintenance.

  • Purchase orders are generated properly, and identifying numbers are assigned accordingly.
  • Parts are ordered based on consumption, mechanic requests, preventive maintenance schedules, and special projects to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Vendors are contacted via phone, fax, email, or internet to place orders.
  • The quality and quantity of received merchandise are verified by comparing receivers with requisitions.
  • Parts are stored and maintained in storeroom bins, and records of parts received and issued are kept.
  • Inventory is checked periodically, and other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and collating are performed as needed.
  • Budgeting support is provided to the Projects Manager and Maintenance Manager as required.
  • Collaboration with the Finance Department ensures proper input, processing, and documentation of maintenance-related POs.
  • Necessary reporting is completed as required by management.
Responsibilities:
  • Front desk phone/reception coverage is provided as needed.
  • Instructions are followed, and management/supervisor direction is responded to promptly.
  • Clear writing and speaking skills are demonstrated, and written information is read and interpreted effectively.
  • Accuracy and thoroughness are maintained, and work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events are managed well under pressure.
  • Safety and security procedures are observed, and potentially unsafe conditions are reported.
  • Continuous knowledge and skill-building efforts are made.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are ensured, and long hours of work are committed when necessary to reach goals.
Requirements:
  • An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

$45,000 - $55,000 per annum (estimated salary range). This role requires proficient typing and computer skills, including knowledge of Database software (MS Access), Internet software, Order processing systems (MP2), Spreadsheet software (MS Excel), Word Processing software (MS Word), and Email software (Groupwise).

Work Environment:

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in production areas where the noise level is louder.
