Position Summary

The Executive Director serves as the leader of our community, overseeing all day-to-day operations and ensuring residents receive the highest level of care and service. As a liaison with staff, residents, families, vendors, providers, and state officials, this position requires effective communication, patience, and understanding to resolve problems and conflicts that arise daily.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of all community departments, working closely with department heads to ensure resident, family, and associate satisfaction.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage the community department heads, filling in for open positions as needed. Empower and support the leadership team with recruitment and retention efforts, onboarding and orientation of new associates, ensuring adequate staffing, and performance management in all areas of the community.
  • Financial Management: Operate within established budgetary guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Meet personally with community residents and families to discuss and/or resolve customer concerns, comments, and preferences.
  • Compliance: Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with all state, local, and federal regulations.
  • Sales and Marketing: Act as a sales leader in the community, reviewing sales strategies with the marketing team, providing community tours, and building rapport with current and prospective residents daily.
  • Property Maintenance: Maintain the property to our highest standards, ensuring available rooms are move-in ready by addressing issues promptly.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3 years or more in a retirement, skilled long-term care, or assisted living industry preferred.
  • Licensure: Must hold an NC Assisted Living Administrators License.
  • Leadership Experience: Must have work history demonstrating a strong ability to hire, direct, and manage associates.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable of DHSR regulations.
  • Certification: Must be certified and in good standing with DHSR.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community, and state officials/surveyors, state hospitals, and the general public.
  • Compassion: Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
