Senior Procurement Specialist

Vaco Boston has partnered with a leading manufacturing company to bring on a Senior Procurement Specialist. This role is a hybrid position that requires strong relationships with suppliers, negotiation skills, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and supplies.
  • Negotiate costs and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure effective procurement processes and support production planning.
  • Maintain purchase contracts, confidentiality agreements, and purchase/price files to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Approve pricing for order requisitions to suppliers and support customer quality assessments and audits.
  • Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Maintain the SAP system, RFQ issue, and quote review requirements to ensure efficient procurement processes.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies by analyzing cost calculation and cost drivers.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and process quotations to achieve cost savings.
  • Establish logical new model cost targets and achieve cost targets through effective supplier selection and negotiation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Oracle, Microsoft D365, or another MRP application.
