Clinical Support Specialist
**About the Role**
At Hackensack Meridian Health, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and creating a supportive work environment for our team members. As a Clinical Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our nursing units.
**Responsibilities**
* Accurately transcribe physician orders and enter them into the computer system with RN validation
* Provide efficient communication, receptionist support, and customer service activities related to the clerical aspects of the nursing unit
* Assist RNs, interdisciplinary team members, and physicians by retrieving charts, obtaining data, and providing assistance as requested during shifts
* Ensure efficient notifications and processes for patient placement, transfers, and discharges
* Maintain accurate and complete charts using organizational skills
* Operate Omnicell and computer systems efficiently for order entries, inquiries, and charges
**Requirements**
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Successful completion of a unit assistant course and/or training program, including medical terminology and computer skills
* Previous clerical experience and medical terminology preferred
* Computer skills and exposure to a healthcare setting preferred
**Work Environment**
* Sitting at a computer workstation; standing, walking; minimal pushing, pulling, lifting, and multi-tasking
