Nurse Care Specialist

This position is a Pay Band HI. The incumbent will be responsible for providing nursing care to meet the needs of the patients on Tesuque I, as well as providing direction and guidance to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and implementing and directing all nursing activities towards common hospital goals.
Key responsibilities include administering medications, performing various treatments ordered by physicians, and ensuring patients' optimal physical and mental well-being.
The ideal candidate will have experience creating daily and monthly schedules, working with KRONOS, coordinating out-of-town appointments and discharges, and working as a Direct Care Staff.
Minimum qualifications include a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico or eligibility for such licensure, as well as five years of experience in the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
Employment requirements include a safety-sensitive position, pre-employment and random testing, nationwide criminal background check, and successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working conditions include exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage, and potential exposure to infectious diseases.
