Job Summary

As a Credit Clerk at Cape Regional Health System, you will play a vital role in supporting our uninsured programs. Your primary responsibilities will include interviewing patients and family members to gather necessary information, preparing and submitting applications on their behalf, and entering data accurately and timely for billing and collection purposes. You will also provide assistance in completing full applications, follow up with Social Service and Family Care Office to ensure completed applications, and back up collectors as needed. Additionally, you will perform other clerical duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and family members to gather information for uninsured programs
  • Prepare and submit applications on behalf of patients
  • Enter data accurately and timely for billing and collection purposes
  • Provide assistance in completing full applications
  • Follow up with Social Service and Family Care Office to ensure completed applications
  • Back up collectors as needed
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned

Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED required
  • Knowledge of computers required
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Good communication skills on all levels of the organization and with the public
  • Must maintain confidentiality
