About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Denver Public Schools. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care for the health needs of students, including administering medications and performing nursing procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Respond to medical emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in the identification process of children with health needs and follow the healthcare plan (IHP) created by the RN.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.
  • Conduct and coordinate mandated vision and hearing screenings.
  • Ensure compliance with related laws and policies, such as reporting suspected child abuse, immunizations, and Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) laws.
  • Monitor and report infectious diseases.
  • Submit data for annual and monthly reports.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • LPN license with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) and a minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • BLS CPR Certification is required.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately record, transfer, and present information in an organized manner.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Works collaboratively with others on a team.
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of District, county, and state health regulations.
  • Ability to meet District standards for physical and mental health.
