Swing Driver

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Swing Driver to join our team. As a Swing Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods from warehouse and distribution centers to customer locations and picking up goods from various locations, including customers, suppliers, and piers.

• Perform inspections on trucks before and after a trip, unload products from the truck to customer facilities.
• Follows appropriate safety procedures to transport cargo and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours according to DOT regulations.
• Assists workers in loading and unloading trucks, checks mechanical, electrical, and operational aspects of the vehicle.
• Manages proof of delivery paperwork from customers when delivering and picking up of product.
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method, open bales, crates, and other containers, record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods and items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.

• Valid CDL Driver's License, maintains compliance with DOT.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports, fill out forms/docs, correspondence, and update paperwork accordingly.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Safety (MSDS) training.
• Good communication and customer service skills at all times.
• Able to work independently.
• Has a good knowledge of roads, trucks, routes, trucking rules, DOT requirements, and CDL.
• Works well under pressure.
• Good work ethic.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Must have attended a training program from a technical or vocational school in order to learn suitable skills and knowledge to obtain the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in order to drive trucks or other types of vehicles carrying loads with a weight over 26,001 pounds.
• Minimum of one year CDL driving experience.
