Job Title: Driver, Swing

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a skilled Driver, Swing to join our team. As a Driver, Swing, you will be responsible for transporting goods from our warehouse and distribution centers to customer locations and picking up goods from various locations, including customers, suppliers, and piers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on trucks to ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Unload products from trucks to customer facilities, following safety procedures and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist workers in loading and unloading trucks, checking mechanical, electrical, and operational aspects of the vehicle.
  • Manage proof of delivery paperwork from customers, marking materials with identifying information and recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials, and complete requisition forms to order supplies for the vehicle.
  • Perform truck maintenance duties as needed, sweeping, dusting, and cleaning the truck to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
  • Valid CDL Driver's License and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and update paperwork accordingly.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Safety (MSDS) training and good communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently, with a good knowledge of roads, trucks, routes, trucking rules, DOT requirements, and CDL.
