Job Summary:

As a Point of Care Coordinator at Trinity Health, you will play a critical role in overseeing and administering the Point of Care Testing (POCT) Program across various hospital-based locations. This position requires a strong background in clinical laboratory testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for POCT, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Provide technical oversight for POCT, including evaluation and implementation of new instrumentation, quality control requirements, and staff training.
  • Collaborate with nursing and ancillary personnel to educate and train staff on POCT procedures and protocols.
  • Collect and review quality control data, testing personnel competency records, and method correlation studies to ensure program integrity.
  • Maintain accreditation documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work independently to organize work, meet deadlines, and record and report data.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field with one-year clinical internship in an approved Medical Technology Program or approved alternate career path.
  • Registration by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist or by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) as a medical technologist or categorical registration in one of the laboratory sciences.
  • 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required; experience in more than one area of the laboratory preferred.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
