Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a skilled Physicist to contribute to a dynamic and expanding sector within the Government Intelligence Community (IC) focusing on innovative initiatives at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

Role Responsibilities:

  • Formulate strategies to tackle significant challenges related to Space Situational Awareness (SSA) for the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DOD).
  • Utilize existing algorithms and scripts to conduct analyses that model space scenarios for system assessment and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze mission data pertinent to space vehicles and their sensors.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in resolving technical challenges.
  • Collaborate within a team-oriented environment to study and dissect a diverse range of intriguing and complex issues in the Space sector.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of relevant experience; Master's degree with three (3) years of relevant experience; or PhD with no prior experience.
  • Possession of an Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph (or the capability to obtain one).
  • Proficiency in a programming language.
  • Willingness to adapt simulation software as necessary to fulfill analytical tasks.
  • Experience in areas such as space domain awareness processes and sensors, optical processing, orbit modeling, and simulation is advantageous.
  • Experience in engineering analysis, including data collection, organization, and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
