Are you an innovative leader with extensive knowledge in cybersecurity, prepared to guide security initiatives for a global leader in travel and hospitality? Booking Holdings Inc. (BHI) is in search of an outstanding Chief Security Officer (CSO) to become part of our executive team and direct our comprehensive security strategy, safeguarding the safety and integrity of our organization's assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Direction: Formulate and oversee the overarching security risk management strategy and performance across the organization. This encompasses creating synergistic strategies, policies, processes, and enhancement programs to reduce compliance, operational, strategic, and asset security risks associated with technology, data, personnel, supply chain, and other assets.
  2. Operational Excellence: Supervise the enhancement or establishment of core capabilities throughout the enterprise, drive cost-saving initiatives, and manage the allocation of talent among employed team members, contract labor, or third-party managed service providers.
  3. Incident Management: Direct incident response planning, investigate security breaches, and manage related escalations, communications, disciplinary actions, and legal matters. Serve as the primary spokesperson during crises, leading the organization through significant incidents.
  4. Compliance & Collaboration: Ensure adherence to relevant laws, standards, and industry best practices across all brands, particularly in financial services. Promote cross-brand collaboration in areas of mutual benefit and guarantee the standardization of company-wide cybersecurity and safety protocols.
  5. Stakeholder Communication: Deliver reports and briefings to the management team on critical security, safety, and compliance issues, and engage with the Audit Committee and Board of Directors as required. Cultivate and maintain relationships with law enforcement entities pertinent to Booking Holdings' operations in various regions.

Qualifications:

  1. Leadership & Crisis Management: Demonstrated experience (15+ years) in a senior cybersecurity leadership role, such as CSO or CISO, ideally within a large, complex global organization. Familiarity with the dynamics of a matrix organization and a proven history of developing and executing security strategies and frameworks. Successful track record in managing major crises and security breaches effectively.
  2. Security & Compliance Knowledge: Profound understanding of security systems, risk management, and critical infrastructure protection. Knowledge of ISO, SOX, GDPR, CCPA, and PCI-DSS compliance frameworks. Expertise in cybersecurity, information security, safety, physical security, fraud prevention, crisis management, and compliance.
  3. Essential Leadership Skills: Capacity to lead change, build relationships, collaborate, and influence at all organizational levels. Strong communication abilities, a strategic mindset, and the capability to achieve results in changing or uncertain conditions.
