As a Pet Retail Assistant Manager, you play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of pets by guiding and developing store Team Members under the supervision of the Store Manager.

Your mission is to deliver outstanding customer service, boost store visibility, achieve business objectives, and support operational tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

The individual in this role will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:

Provide customers with an exceptional shopping experience.

Assist the Store Manager in the comprehensive management of store operations.

Share insights and recommendations on products to fulfill customer needs and promote pet health.

Mentor and guide Team Members to ensure a superior customer experience and meet sales targets.


Oversee inventory management, including product replenishment, adjustments, weekly counts, transfers, returns, and processing shipments.

Coordinate special store events and promotions.

Engage positively with pet owners in-person and through various communication channels.

Perform front-end responsibilities such as operating the cash register, bagging items, restocking merchandise, and setting up displays.

Fulfill additional tasks assigned by the Store Manager or any member of the Retail Management Team.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.

A strong passion for exceptional customer service and the welfare of pets.

At least 1 year of experience in retail sales.

At least 1 year of managerial experience.

A willingness to learn about the products and services offered.

Proven ability to meet sales goals.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including evenings and weekends.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry-out).

Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly with or without reasonable accommodation.

Comfortable working with a variety of animals, including both small and large dogs.

Must be able to work in an environment with pet hair, dander, and dust.

$16.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
