Job Overview

YAI is seeking Part-time Community Habilitation Specialists to work in the Manhattan area. As a Community Habilitation Specialist, you will work with children, adolescents, and/or adults with developmental disabilities in their families' homes, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counseling and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Training in activities of daily living, such as personal care and household management
  • Behavior management and support
  • Community integration and advocacy

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED; some college is a plus
  • Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
  • Ability to participate in paid NYS Mandated OPWDD initial trainings
  • Tuberculosis test mandatory for most positions
