Labor Relations Strategist and Senior Associate General Counsel

Job Summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a seasoned executive to serve as its Vice President, Labor Strategy and Senior Associate General Counsel. As the system's principal subject matter expert on labor relations and strategy, this role provides a wide range of legal services related to employment and labor issues. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of at least fifteen years of experience in labor relations, preferably within a large, complex organization in the private sector. Prior experience advising healthcare provider organizations on labor and employment matters is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer labor grievance and arbitration procedures, including dispute resolution.
  • Draft collective-bargaining proposals, contract language, and letters of understanding.
  • Collaborate with the Legal & Risk Services Department to provide comprehensive employment and labor law counsel to YNHHS and its affiliates.

Requirements
  • Law degree from an ABA accredited school of law.
  • Membership in the State Bar of Connecticut, or eligibility for admission based on reciprocity or in-house counsel.
  • Strong listening skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
