Job Summary:

As a Manufacturing Lead at Valcor Engineering Corporation, you will be responsible for leading a team of manufacturing engineers in support of new product introduction and production valve assembly and test efforts. This is a working manager position that requires a high-performing manufacturing engineer to serve as a lead.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct all work in a safe manner

Determine all needed assembly and test fixtures for NPI programs, working with design and test engineers to create a fixture list

Design, draw, manufacture, inspect, and validate manufacturing, assembly, and test fixtures

Coordinate with planner/buyer, design, and test engineers on fixture jobs/POs, priority, and schedule for NPI programs

Develop new and improve existing manufacturing, assembly, and test processes and cells

Create new and revise existing routers, driven by ECOs, process improvements, etc.

Update jobs based on NCMRs, ECOs/EOs, redlines, etc.

Create jobs to make fixtures or development parts

Review and approve ECOs for new and changes to existing drawings, documents, etc.

Review, provide feedback, and offer alternatives regarding NPI drawings for correctness, manufacturability, standardization, best practices, and lessons learned

Build development and LRIP assemblies

Create new and revise existing assembly procedures, work instructions, part protection procedures, standards, etc.

Determine and implement part protection and handling processes to reduce damage and rework

Provide all needed support for final packaging, including process, materials, documentation, etc.

Prepare ECOs for new and changes to fixture drawings, weld simulation drawings, standards, etc.

Lead or support the identification and removal of waste from manufacturing, assembly, and test processes

Lead or support cross-functional teams

Lead or support structured problem-solving/root cause corrective actions to address systemic quality problems

Manage/mentor manufacturing engineers

Assist/train/review and approve manufacturing engineers' fixture lists, fixture designs, routers, assembly procedures, etc.

Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with manufacturing engineers

Write and deliver annual performance reviews

Participate in interviews and offer input/recommendations

Manage/mentor intern(s)

Lead or support capital expense efforts

Requirements:

BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or the technical equivalent

5 years of manufacturing engineering experience

Experience leading others preferred

Experience with fixture design

Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing tools

Proficient in the use of Solidworks

Solid project management, communication, and cross-functional team leadership skills

Ability to perform in a fast-paced, medium-sized company

Results-oriented and ability to motivate team members
