We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Leader in Rheumatology and Autoimmunity to join our team at the University of California, San Diego. The successful candidate will be a Professor of Medicine with expertise in inflammation and will play a key role in advancing our research and clinical programs in this area.
Key Responsibilities- Lead research efforts in rheumatology and autoimmunity, with a focus on inflammation
- Develop and implement innovative research strategies to advance our understanding of these diseases
- Collaborate with colleagues across the university to develop and implement new clinical programs and services
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior faculty and researchers
- Contribute to the development of new grant proposals and research initiatives
- MD or equivalent degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine
- California medical license or equivalent certification/permit
- 5+ years of experience in clinical, translational, and/or basic research
- Independent extramurally-funded research program (NIH R01 or similar)
- 5+ years of research in high-impact journals with 1+ grants and/or publications in rheumatic diseases
- National recognition in research
