Compensation:
Certified Educators start at $65,500*
Non-Certified Educators start at $63,500*
*These starting salaries include a stipend of $5,000 and an additional $2,500 for CTE teachers.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Valid teaching certification in Texas with necessary endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level is preferred
- Proven expertise in the designated subject area
Skills and Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of the assigned academic subject
- Familiarity with curriculum development and instructional methodologies
- Ability to effectively instruct and manage student behavior
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Preferred one year of student teaching or an approved internship
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Duties:
1. Design and execute lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum and demonstrate thorough preparation.
2. Utilize suitable instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology that cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
3. Assess student learning styles and adapt instructional activities accordingly.
4. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for students with special needs based on their Individual Education Plans (IEP).
5. Work alongside colleagues to establish instructional goals and methods in line with district requirements.
6. Supervise the work of instructional aides and volunteers.
Student Development:
7. Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through various testing methods.
8. Take on responsibilities for extracurricular activities as assigned.
9. Serve as a positive role model, supporting the mission of the educational institution.
Classroom Management:
10. Create a learning environment that is conducive to the physical, social, and emotional growth of students.
11. Manage student behavior in accordance with established guidelines.
12. Ensure the safety of students, equipment, and materials.
13. Assist in the selection of instructional materials.
14. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
Communication:
15. Foster professional relationships and maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
Professional Development:
16. Engage in staff development opportunities to enhance job-related skills.
17. Adhere to state, district, and school regulations and policies.
18. Participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
