Dance Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Dance Instructor to join our team at Tri-C. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction in the foundation of dance, including posture, choreography, rhythm, technical competency, and interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and present curriculum that provides students with an experience in the art form that is age appropriate and challenges students to achieve at the highest level.
Work with students from diverse backgrounds to educate and improve skills.
Assess student's progress by grading assignments.
Organize and present a culminating event that represents the quality of work undertaken over the course of the semester.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and/or modify curriculum as needed to meet changing industry trends and college initiatives.

Requirements:

Degree in dance and/or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of effective strategies for integrating students with varying stages of dance development.
Ability to assess and grade the progress of students.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Experience in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.
Demonstrated experience instructing or teaching others.

Work Environment:

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment.
The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type.
However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.
Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
