Role Summary:
The Life Sciences Manager is responsible for providing first-line oversight and systems engineering expertise within the section. This role entails managing a team of highly skilled professionals engaged in research and development with significant implications for public safety, health, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise technical and professional staff involved in critical research initiatives.
- Report to the Protection and Survival Research Branch manager and coordinate with the Aerospace Medical Research Division's program management office.
- Oversee budget management, project planning, staffing, procurement, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Plan and prioritize work for subordinates, ensuring effective scheduling and task assignment based on project requirements and employee capabilities.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide guidance, and facilitate professional development for team members.
- Manage recruitment processes and address employee grievances, escalating issues as necessary.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance productivity and quality of work outputs.
Research Responsibilities:
- Identify and define research needs, conduct experiments, and analyze data to support the agency's mission.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, with a strong foundation in engineering principles.
