Job Summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Respiratory Care Assistant to join our team. As a Respiratory Care Assistant, you will assist with Respiratory Therapy needs for non-critically ill patients in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the respiratory therapist/technician in performing routine age-appropriate Respiratory Care procedures.
  • Perform quality basic Respiratory Care procedures according to established departmental policy for the neonate through geriatric.
  • Record completely all pertinent information pertaining to patient care procedures per hospital and departmental policies.
  • Record patient information in electronic medical record system.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program approved by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Successful completion of 1 year of such program required.
  • Registered with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as an RCA required.
  • Completed competency evaluations for each of the duties of the job required.
Work Environment

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.

This is not a State employed position.
