About the Role

Sullivan University is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Medical Coding Faculty Member to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction and Assessment: Deliver high-quality instruction and assessment of student learning in face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or HyFlex learning environments.
  • Course Development: Develop and revise course curriculum utilizing the University's learning management system, and participate in course and program level learning assessments.
  • Student Support: Provide an environment conducive to learning, engage students through collaborative learning, experiential learning, and/or problem-based learning, and respond to student inquiries and grades assignments in a timely manner.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional training and development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current in the field of medical coding.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Certifications: Current Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), and/or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P) required. RHIT or RHIA preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of effective online teaching experience in a health service management program and experience as a biller/coder.
  • Skills: Excellent writing and oral communication skills, leadership, customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
