Eastern Oregon University is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Admissions Counselor of Multicultural Recruitment to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Admissions Department, you will play a critical role in representing our university to diverse constituencies, including prospective students, families, schools, and community contacts.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain recruitment initiatives to meet overall university enrollment goals.
- Execute and assess programs within assigned geographic territories, presenting to large and small groups, planning recruitment travel, monitoring recruitment expenses, and providing support to the campus visit program.
- Advise and counsel prospective students about EOU undergraduate academic offerings and overall student experience, representing EOU and recruiting prospective students for EOU at multiple events and regional schools.
- Build a stronger presence and cultivate meaningful relationships to effectively explain admission policies and next steps to students and provide outstanding customer service.
- Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Fluency in speaking and writing in Spanish is required.
- One to two years of demonstrated experience working with or creating programming surrounding outreach of underrepresented youth.
- One to two years of experience working in education or with high school and community college-age students and working with non-traditional and multicultural students or audiences.
- Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to speak before large and small groups in a variety of settings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity.
- Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Familiarity with EOU admissions/university policies.
