Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Due Diligence Specialist to join our team at City National Bank. As a key member of our Investment and Operational Due Diligence functions, you will play a critical role in supporting the CNR Manager Research team in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the due diligence process for traditional and alternative investments, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, separately managed accounts, and private funds.
  • Conduct research and analysis on investment managers and strategies, including portfolio models and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external managers and strategies, including quarterly reports and manager tear sheets.
  • Assist in maintaining regulatory documentation and records, including research call leads, due diligence questionnaires, and policy and procedure assistance.
  • Support special projects, such as asset class research, manager selection analysis, and performance attribution records.
  • Represent the Wealth Management business as the first line of defense and provide assistance for 2LOD Review & Challenge.
  • Contribute to the development of a robust risk culture, risk conduct, and risk literacy within the 1LOD.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in investment research, including traditional and alternative investments.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Python, or similar programming experience.
  • Structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, FactSet, and other investment research tools.
  • Project Management, SharePoint, Power BI, and automation experience.
  • Investment Management experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong emerging end-to-end generalist problem-solving skills, including defining and deconstructing problems, prioritizing issues and analysis, and structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses.
