Position Overview: This role serves as the primary liaison for health and wellness initiatives within the institution, providing essential administrative support to the Dean of Students.
Responsibilities include overseeing student grievance and disciplinary procedures; leading the Behavior Intervention Team, maintaining comprehensive case documentation, and adjudicating academic misconduct cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate a college-wide awareness campaign addressing topics such as substance abuse, sexual violence prevention, and promoting healthy lifestyle choices.
- Develop and execute a student engagement program focused on health and wellness, fostering innovative and collaborative efforts across the college.
- Collaborate with the Student Life Program Assistant to create engaging program materials and branding strategies; assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives through surveys and metrics.
- Lead the Wellness Works committee, coordinating employee wellness activities.
- Act as the College's safety plan coordinator and facilitate student insurance claims.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Competencies:
- Understanding of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education.
- Familiarity with program evaluation and strategic planning methodologies.
- Knowledge of budget development and management principles.
- Awareness of best practices and trends in student behavior.
- Experience in event planning and execution.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer operations and relevant software applications.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Skills in interpersonal relations and public engagement.
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of relevant experience. Note: Experience may be considered in lieu of degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or coursework in Counseling or Psychology.
- Relevant professional health certification.
- Basic understanding of infectious disease management and exposure control.
- Experience in health and wellness program implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of FERPA regulations.
- Experience with student disciplinary processes.
- Background in post-secondary education.
- Public speaking proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with software programs such as Banner, Canva, and Microsoft Office 365.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position includes oversight of Federal Work Study students in Fitness Centers and management of contracted service providers.
Work Environment:
The role is situated in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment and requiring adherence to business attire and professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks. The employee may occasionally lift or move office supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
Position Type:
This is a full-time role that may require extended hours and occasional weekend commitments.
Travel Requirements:
Travel to various campus locations is necessary, with potential overnight travel obligations.
