Benefits Administrator

Job Summary
The Fairfax County Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Benefits Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for the overall management of the administration of the Office of Benefits Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance on operational functions
- Manage budget funding requirements, plan design, and forecasting
- Participate in procurement initiatives and oversee vendor performance
- Manage risk and compliance
- Identify complex problems, provide recommendations, and implement solutions aligned with business needs
- Lead in the planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating the activities, program functions, personnel, physical, and fiscal resources of the assigned office
- Assist with strategic planning and goals
Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in human resources, public administration, business management, business administration, or a related field
- Five (5) years of experience in benefits administration, some of which shall have been in a supervisory or leadership role
- Knowledge of theories, procedures, practices, materials, and methods related to employee benefit programming
- Familiarity with applicable local, county, and state regulations, laws, and policies
- Skill in personnel, financial, administrative management, and data analysis
- Proficiency in the use of technology, data compilation, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to analyze a variety of administrative, operational, and fiscal problems and make sound recommendations for solutions
- Ability to manage and supervise program activities to ensure a program meets its goals
- Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with culturally diverse school-based personnel, central office staff, public entities, and vendors
- Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in employee benefit plan design, procurement, implementation, and vendor management
- Experience in HCM acquisition and implementation
- Experience with the collective bargaining process
- CEBS certification
- SHRM-CP or SCP certification
- Knowledge of school organization, mission, and the requirements for the assigned function to accomplish the mission
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $117,997 - $179,505. The position is a 260-day contract with a monthly pay frequency.
