Key Responsibilities- Medication Evaluation and Monitoring: Conduct thorough evaluations and monitor medication regimens for students, ensuring optimal care and treatment.
- Clinical Assessment and Intervention: Provide individual, group, and couples therapy, as well as lethality assessments and crisis intervention, to support students' mental health and well-being.
- Training and Staff Development: Offer training and staff development programs on campus, promoting a culture of mental health awareness and support.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with staff therapists, psychologists, and other campus partners to deliver mental health and behavioral medicine services, ensuring seamless support for students.
- Assessment and Referral: Conduct thorough assessments and refer students to specialty mental health agencies in the community, as needed.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with academic advisement, residential education, and individual professors to support students' academic and personal success.
- Goal Setting and Evaluation: Work with the Director of Counseling to establish and evaluate goals and priorities, ensuring alignment with Wagner College's strategic directions.
- Clinical Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
- Work Experience: 2 years of full-time experience as a psychiatrist in child/adult psychiatry, preferred.
- Education: Doctor of medicine (MD) degree and one year of postgraduate training in an accredited hospital residency program.
- License: License for the practice of psychiatry and current BC/BE in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry).
- Skills: Self-initiating, self-motivated, works independently, excellent assessment and clinical skills, leadership skills.
- Communication/Interpersonal Skills: Effective communicator and listener, open to diverse opinions, strong oral and written skills, team player, empathic.
