Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technician to join our team at UC Davis Health System. As an Electrophysiology Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting with the performance of complex EP procedures, operating technical equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the performance of all EP invasive and interventional procedures, including EPS, ablation, PM, ICD, lead extraction, and loop recorder procedures.
  • Operate X-ray/digital equipment and maintain knowledge of its operation.
  • Maintain the quality and safety of the work environment, including inventory control and pre/post-procedure preparation.
  • Provide pre- and post-op care to patients, including emotional support and teaching explanations of procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience as an EP Tech.
  • Ability to perform all roles of the EP Scrub Tech.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and electrophysiology.
  • Working knowledge of EP systems equipment.
  • Ability to provide orientation and instruction to new EP lab staff and teaching to cardiology fellows, nursing students, and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • RCIS or RCES certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited Electrophysiology Program or Cardiovascular Program.
  • 2 years of experience as an EP Tech.
Work Environment

This is a critical position, and employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

The Electrophysiology Laboratory at UC Davis Hospital consists of 2 procedure rooms treating patients of all ages for various heart rhythm disorders and implantable devices.
