Postdoctoral Researcher, Engineering Science

The Das research team in the College of Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Scholar to join our lab in the field of 2D materials.
Responsibilities- Developing bio-inspired and neuromorphic devices for sensing, compute, storage, and security applications using novel two-dimensional (2D) materials.
- Performing research in developing bio-inspired and neuromorphic devices for sensing, compute, storage, and security applications using novel nanomaterials such as two-dimensional (2D) materials.
- Presenting results at technical conferences and preparing manuscripts for submission.
- Assisting with operations in the laboratory, including equipment upkeep, data management, communications with users, preparation of reports for research sponsors, and scientific outreach to the broader community.
- A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field by the appointment start date.
- A strong record of related research and experience.
- Experience developing exfoliation routes to synthesize 2D (two-dimensional) materials.
- Hands-on experience and efficiency in analyzing data for various material characterization.
- Experience in using clean room facilities.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment in support of the goals of the research team.
- Experience in mentoring and supporting graduate and undergraduate students.
This is a term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with good possibility of re-funding.
