Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Controller will be instrumental in managing essential accounting operations to guarantee the precision and effectiveness of financial activities within our real estate sector. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, with particular expertise in real estate finance, and the capability to adeptly juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Treasury Oversight:
  • Supervise daily treasury operations, including the monitoring and management of cash flow.
  • Prepare and evaluate cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational requirements.
Investor Funding Management:
  • Prepare funding requests and distributions for stakeholders as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on capital calls and returns.
Banking Relationships:
  • Draft and review standard reference requests for establishing new banking relationships.
  • Ensure all payments comply with company policies and banking regulations.
Accounts Receivable Oversight:
  • Regularly assess accounts receivable aging reports to evaluate the collectability of outstanding balances.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate write-offs or reserves as necessary.
Accounts Payable Oversight:
  • Manage accounts payable operations, including issuing payments and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date vendor records, and assist with resolving vendor inquiries.
Lease Management:
  • Oversee the lease management process, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Handle accounting for complex lease agreements, ensuring accuracy and regulatory adherence.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, ideally within the real estate sector or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, particularly in relation to real estate finance and lease management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with JD Edwards and Yardi is advantageous.
