SpaceX is seeking a highly skilled Architectural Project Engineer to join our Starbase Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for translating engineering, commercial, and residential requirements into executable plans.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate with stakeholders to design and build small to large capital projects across the site, including managing all phases of the project from planning to final delivery.
- Partner with cross-departmental teams to define requirements and derive design details for all utility needs.
- Use architecture/engineering knowledge to expedite the design process and solve for conflicts during construction.
- Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out.
- Perform project control tasks, including project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time.
- Oversee and own full lifecycle of tasks and/or projects to achieve on-time and under budget delivery with customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, or architecture.
- 1+ years of experience creating architectural construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Experience in construction, project management, and tenant improvement.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas trade.
- Able to read instructions and blueprints.
- Knowledge of basic construction and engineering principles and methods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- This position is based in Starbase, TX (Brownsville/South Padre Island Area) and requires being onsite - remote work not considered.
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility required.
Pay range: Architectural Engineer/Level I: $95,000.00-$115,000.00 per year; Architectural Engineer/Level II: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year.
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks.
Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.
