Job Description

Position Purpose:

Our Operations and Maintenance Specialist will work closely with our experienced staff to learn and understand the daily operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment facility.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • This role will provide hands-on experience in a wastewater environment and involve working under the guidance of an experienced full-time employee.
  • Internships are focused on learning and exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures.
  • This position involves laboratory, technical, maintenance, and groundskeeping work in the operation of a wastewater treatment facility.
  • Candidates with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Rising seniors or those with technical school experience are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • The ability to work in a wastewater environment.
  • A strong ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.

Physical Requirements:

  • The capability to lift objects weighing approximately 30-35 pounds.
