EHS Analyst

Constellation Energy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS Analyst to join our Utilities Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving environmental, health, and safety efforts for our Utilities operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety Coordinator for the site with ~30 employees.
- Leads programs, training, and messaging to promote safe behaviors throughout the facility.
- Leads programs to correct unsafe acts and unsafe conditions with the workplace.
- Ensures relevant data, compliance records, and training, postings, procedures, and reporting is complete, accurate and in compliance.
- Performs sample taking, testing, and reporting to comply with water pollution & NYSDEC SPDES (State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit requirements.
- Maintains SDS logs, waste collection activities, and reporting.
- Conduct and complete assessments, develop procedures, and conduct training.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related discipline (Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety) with 5+ years’ EHS experience in a utilities, construction, operations, or manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations (federal and state) and working knowledge of LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Machine guarding, and other state/Federal Requirements.
- Working knowledge of chemistry and experience performing chemical tests such as water sampling.
- Familiarity with SDEC (State Department of Environmental Conservation) SPDES (State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System).
- Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.
- Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and strong human relations skills.
- Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes incomplete sets of data.
- Action orientated – High level of energy, sense of urgency, and able to help others see the goals for safety, health, and environment.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Able to sit periodically and for extended periods of time, climb ladders/stairs, reach below knees and above shoulders, kneel and crawl to access work areas.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping and ability to reach forward and grasp.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Able to read/write and understand instructions in English.
- Able to pass drug screens, and criminal background check.
