Position Overview:
This is a 2nd shift, on-site role from 2 PM to 11 PM. We are seeking a permanent Senior Controls & Automation Specialist who will collaborate closely with the Maintenance and Engineering Managers. You will serve as the subject matter expert in Controls, Automation, and Programming, taking on a leadership role without direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for maintaining all electrical and control systems within the plant and production environment. This includes:
  • Overseeing the installation, programming, and maintenance of various Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and related automation solutions.
  • Inspecting, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining food processing and packaging equipment.
  • Occasional travel to other facilities as required.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in controls and automation.
  • Experience troubleshooting 24V and 480V systems, PLCs, and VFDs.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs and VFDs, preferably Allen Bradley.
  • The ability to teach troubleshooting skills using laptops for PLC, VFD, and HMI operations.
  • Experience with RSLogix500 and 5000.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems is a plus.

Additional Skills:
  • Ability to create notifications and log time on work orders.
  • Capability to provide feedback for updating procedures and identifying deficiencies in a CMMS system.
  • Experience in writing job-specific procedures and establishing task frequencies.
  • Proficiency in utilizing FactoryTalk View and software ladder logic.
  • Experience upgrading obsolete PLC, HMI, and VFD systems.
  • Experience in a food production environment is advantageous.
