Sanitation Technician

As a Sanitation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the facility, including both warehouse and production areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform cleaning and sanitization of various machinery, support equipment, and conveyor systems.
- Ensure floors, walls, and designated workspaces are kept clean and sanitized.
- Conduct general maintenance tasks such as mopping, sweeping, and organizing the warehouse.
- Prioritize cleaning tasks based on departmental needs.
- Adhere to all Food Safety, Sanitation, and Safety protocols.
- Follow proper handling procedures for all products in accordance with industry standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility by collecting and disposing of trash and debris.
- Ensure sanitary conditions by cleaning up spills and addressing sanitation improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with supervisors to minimize product loss.
- Maintain neatness in assigned work areas and travel aisles.
- Report any unresolvable safety issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Observe and enforce safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ensure that material handling equipment is inspected and maintained regularly.
- Comply with all company policies and applicable laws.
- Adhere to work schedules and perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:
* High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum one year of sanitation or maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with general building sanitation and maintenance practices.
- Experience operating a pallet jack.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail.
* Certification in material handling equipment or willingness to obtain certification.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Effective communication skills with co-workers.
* Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this position include:
- Regular use of hands for handling objects and tools.
- Standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and balancing.
- Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting of heavier items.
This is a full-time position that may require working nights, weekends, and holidays. The job is primarily conducted in a warehouse setting, with exposure to fast-moving equipment and varying temperature conditions.
