Job Overview

Multicultural Care Center LLC is a leading provider of housing stabilization services, dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. We are seeking a highly skilled Housing Case Manager to join our team.

About the Role

This challenging yet rewarding role involves providing comprehensive support to participants, including screening and intakes, housing search and placement, rehousing, and landlord recruitment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with private landlords and property managers.

Responsibilities
  • Housing intake, search, and placement for single adults experiencing homelessness
  • Develop individualized housing search and placement plans for initial or rehousing placements
  • Locate new landlords and establish positive relationships with private landlords and property managers
  • Connect households to security deposits, moving costs, furnishings, basic needs, and emergency resources
  • Assist with arranging for and supporting the details of the move, including performing habitability inspections and required recertification processes
  • Provide tenancy-sustaining services and case management, focusing on lease understanding, landlord communication, neighbor conflicts, rent payment, and addressing behaviors that jeopardize housing
  • Utilize skills and community resources to prevent and intervene in crisis situations
  • Support participant health and wellness through connections to physical, mental health, and recovery resources
  • Assist participants in maintaining or increasing income through benefits assistance or involvement with volunteering, education, and employment activities
  • Help participants navigate transportation needs, including access to bus tokens, gas cards, and driving residents to appointments in personal vehicles
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field; experience working with target populations may be considered as a substitute for some education
  • 2-3 years of experience in providing services to individuals or families with behavioral health challenges and/or in supportive housing environments; preference given to those with experience in housing search and placement
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $43,200 - $45,760 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek. This estimate is calculated based on the national average hourly wage for Housing Case Managers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, considering factors such as cost of living, industry standards, and job market conditions.
