WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.
Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Conducts cleaning and housekeeping tasks within designated areas following established protocols.
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions.
- Physically capable of performing the required duties.
- Willingness to engage in routine and repetitive tasks consistently.
- Efficient use of cleaning supplies and proper maintenance of equipment.
- Capable of completing all assigned responsibilities independently after the training period, ensuring safety for oneself and others.
- Adheres to the cleaning schedule.
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas, furniture, and fixtures in accordance with established housekeeping standards.
- Handles floor cleaning: dry mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, and addressing spills as necessary. Performs emergency cleaning as required.
- Responsible for cleaning both movable and stationary furniture and fixtures: dusting, spot cleaning, washing, disinfecting, and polishing as needed. This includes cleaning ledges, shelves, and vents. Empties, cleans, and re-lines wastebaskets. Rearranges furniture as directed. Inspects furniture for wear and reports any issues to the supervisor.
- Manages bathroom cleaning: disinfects all fixtures, floors, and walls as directed. Cleans windows and mirrors, replenishes bathroom supplies, and handles curtain cleaning.
- Responsible for cleaning walls, windows, doors, and ceilings. Spot cleans as necessary and disinfects when required. Scheduled cleaning of walls and ceilings.
- Cleans entrance and exit areas following the same standards for floors and walls.
- Daily cleaning of all horizontal surfaces to remove dust, dirt, or grease, utilizing disinfectants in resident care areas as necessary.
- Performs terminal cleaning in resident rooms according to established procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred, preparing the room for new occupants.
- Handles cleaning duties in isolation units when clients are transferred.
- Responsible for waste removal and disposal. Watering plants and dusting as needed.
- Reports supply and equipment needs to the supervisor.
- Maintains cleaning equipment used in the performance of duties.
