About the Role

This Paramedic position is an exciting opportunity to join the Premise Health team at the NYRA Aqueduct Racetrack and Belmont Park. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize medical procedures to be followed, or need for additional assistance
  • Restore and stabilize heart rhythm on pulseless, nonbreathing patients
  • Monitor cardiac patients and administer initial treatment at emergency scenes
  • Observe, record, and report patient conditions, treatments, and significant incidents to physicians and other medical personnel
  • Initiate intravenous fluids to administer medication or drugs, or to replace fluids lacking in the body
  • Administer injections of medications and drugs, and assist in extricating trapped victims and transporting sick and injured persons to treatment centers
  • Communicate with physicians and other medical personnel in person and by radio-telephone, and maintain current knowledge of treatment techniques, protocol changes, materials, and equipment
  • Prepare required reports and maintain records of activities, and may drive mobile units to and from emergency scenes
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from an accredited Paramedic training program, Paramedic Certification as defined within the state in which contract exists
  • Current hands-on certification in health care provider ARC or AHA Advanced Life Support required
  • ACLS certification is required for all Paramedics
  • At least three years' experience as an EMT-P in an emergency room, with an ambulance/EMS service, occupational health clinic, or other ambulatory care clinic
