Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Bilingual Youth Support Specialist to join our team at Friends of Youth. As a key member of our Foster Care program, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of youth in foster care.

Key Responsibilities

Foster Parent and Child Support

  • Provide support services to foster parents and children, including conducting individual assessments and delivering life skills education.
  • Assist foster parents in delivering specific life skills education to youth, focusing on areas such as independent living skills, job readiness, and consumer skills.
  • Establish and maintain a catalog of life skill packets, information, and community resources.

Case Management

  • Assist Case Managers with various case management responsibilities, including locating alternative placements, meeting with school officials, and finding community resources.
  • Assist foster parents in providing transportation for youth to appointments, community resources, and meetings.

Administration

  • Participate in regular supervision sessions with the Lead Bilingual Case Manager to discuss policy, review program operations, and report on youth, family, and foster family status.
  • Maintain and update case records and foster home files.
  • Maintain files for agency and state forms, policies, and procedures, resource literature, and other related documents.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with adolescent youth is preferred.
