Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Learning Assistant Teacher to join our team at Children's Home Society of WA. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive child development services to children, building positive relationships with families, and supporting the healthy development of their child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting child development screenings and assessments, and work with children in childcare to promote their development.
  • Participate in center family events and activities, and maintain documentation and record keeping to meet various program Performance Standards and Akin EHS/HS protocols.
  • Collaborate with educators to develop and implement individual school readiness plans (ISRP) within Performance Standards and Akin EHS/HS timelines.
  • Support with meal/snack time, including setting up the room and preparing meals or snacks as appropriate, and eating family style meals with the children.
  • Participate in center employee meetings, program and center professional development activities, and other professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of a current Child Development Associate (CDA) in infant/toddler or preschool preferred upon hire. Required within first year of employment
  • One-year work experience in a childcare or child development classroom
  • One-year experience in working with children and parents from a culturally diverse and low-income backgrounds
