Job SummaryWe are seeking a self-sufficient, hands-on Mechanical Integrity Inspector to ensure compliance with API 510 and 570 inspection, examination, and testing requirements. As a key member of our team, you will be directly involved in inspection activities, responsible for quality assurance/quality control, and play a crucial role in day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities- Perform internal and external inspections to determine if weldments or equipment meet specific code, standard, or document acceptance criteria.
- Conduct scheduled inspections to maintain the mechanical integrity of fixed equipment in the facility.
- Compile and submit completed inspection reports in a timely manner.
- Pay attention to detail and recommend and approve repairs, as well as perform visual inspection of completed work.
- Study equipment leak regulations applicable to location and customer base.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering departments on scheduling, repair methods, materials utilization, and arranging special inspection and advice on inspection requirements, corrosion allowances, access provisions, etc.
- Request the services of the Corrosion Engineer on critical or unusual problems involving the cause, seriousness, and prevention of corrosion or other deterioration of plant equipment.
- Ensure adherence to Sila quality, technical, environmental, and safety standards.
- Participate in Design-for-Maintainability and other engineering reviews prior to design lock, ensuring quality during in-house or third-party fabrication, construction, and factory acceptance testing.
- Provide oral and written reporting on inspection.
- 2 years of experience in weld inspection-related activities (QC, NDT, etc.).
- Current American Petroleum Institute (API) API 510, 570, or 653 certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards, including AWS, ASME, API (510 & 570), and working knowledge of methodologies.
- Knowledge of testing tools, such as DMV, helium leak detector, and hydro tester.
- Knowledgeable on safety requirements for handling and storage of flammable and toxic gases, confined entry, hazardous energy isolation, and electrical safety.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs, walk long distances, stand for extended periods, and occasionally kneel or bend. Pass a respirator fit test and wear respiratory protection when required. Wear personal protective equipment, including a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
BenefitsSila Nanotechnologies Inc. offers a competitive Total Rewards package, including benefits, perks, and equity. The base pay for this role is between $25/hr and $32/hr, and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for overtime.
